Signs your home may need rewiring
Wiring installed before the 1970s often used rubber or cloth insulation that becomes brittle and cracks with age. That can lead to shorts, shocks and fire risk. Older circuits may also have no earth, and simply weren't designed for modern loads.
We'll inspect your existing wiring, explain what's safe and what isn't, and recommend a full or partial rewire. We plan the work to minimise disruption, and we often combine rewiring with a switchboard upgrade so everything is brought up to current standards.

Rewiring FAQs
How long does it take to rewire a house?
A typical house takes several days, depending on its size, access and how many circuits are involved. We'll give you a clear timeline with your quote.
Can I stay in the house during a rewire?
Usually, yes. We plan the work in stages so you have power for as much of each day as possible.
How do I know if my wiring is old?
Look for rubber or cloth cables in the roof space, ceramic fuses at the switchboard, or no earth wire. We can inspect it for you.
Will rewiring damage my walls?
We work through ceilings and subfloors wherever possible. Some small patches may be needed, and we keep them to a minimum.
